Smith's Story...
Please meet Smith! Smith is a very handsome, classic looking GSD, with a shiny coat and beautiful markings. At 18 months old, he still has a bit of puppy playfulness in him! He loves to play with his foster brother and sister GSDs, and often play bows to encourage them to chase him. Smith bonds very quickly with people, and follows his foster mom from room to room throughout the day. Since he is past the chewing stage and is housetrained, Smith has free run of the house. He's never had one single accident! Smith knows several commands, such as sit, down, shake and go potty. Smith will sleep in a crate, but because he loves his people, he will sleep right beside his foster mom's bed at night and never make a peep. Please check back soon for more info about Smith!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smith, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
