Facts about Tyson

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Up for foster or adoption: Tyson. We have a very special dog looking for a very special home in Texas.

Tyson is about 5 years old. When we saved him from a high kill shelter he was heart worm positive. We had him treated for heart worms, but by the time we saved him and got him to a vet for treatment his heart may have already been damaged by the heart worms. Now Tyson is suffering from right side heart failure, but with medications the vet says he has a shot of living out the rest of his years.

Tyson is an absolutely wonderful boy! He loves people and gets along with other dogs. He’s a lab mix and he’s fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. He’s still active, eating, tail wagging kind of boy !

He’s looking for a loving home and a loving, loyal family who will fall in love with the amazing dog he is. It’s not his fault that whomever owned him before we saved him never gave him heart worm preventative. The vet estimates his monthly medication would cost about $100-120. We’d love to find this wonderful dog an incredible family. He is about 65 lbs.

Please apply at www.luckylabrescue.com and we can arrange for you to speak to his foster mom and meet Tyson.

Give this boy a chance at love ! You may fall in love too !

About Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption - TX Austin

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) approved rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers and lab mixes and find them loving forever homes.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from municipal and county shelters in Texas. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded conditions, great dogs, who ended up in a bad spot.

Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
