Cider's Story...
I promise if you take me home I'll keep your heart and your lap warm! I'm such a sweet boy who is so funny and loving, you'll wonder how you ever lived without me. WAAL saved me from death row when I was sick; now I'm all better and ready for my forever home although I do need a medicine that is $10 a month to keep me healthy. I don't mind being held and snuggled closed when I'm in th emood for it and I absolutely love other cats. My current foster home has several small kittens and they're my favorite. I love playing with and cleaning them. Speaking of playing, I am absolutely obsessed with a laser pointer! They say you're only as old as you feel and I might be an "adult" at two years old but I definitely still act like a kitten when a laser pointer comes out! I chirp and dash around the house trying my hardest to catch that little red dot. I'll also leap through the air trying to catch feather toys. I haven't been super friendly with the dogs in my foster home but given time I think I'd acclimate just fine if they give me my space. I'm litter box trained, FeLV negative, microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. See the rest of my handsome pictures by Allie Burns at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cider, a Wichita Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
