Facts about Mojo

  • Breed: American Bulldog
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male

2 Year Old Male

Mojo is fully grown at about 90 lbs. He is a self-assured boy until voices are raised, which tells us someone was a bit too harsh on this youngster in his past. Despite being sensitive at times, Mojo is all American Bulldog and is both sweet and stubborn. He needs an adopter he can look to as a leader - through patience and a good obedience class. Mojo is affectionate and gets along with both male and female dogs. However, he may not be the best candidate for an off-leash or dog park dog as he may try to herd the other dogs. Mojo takes cues well from other dogs and would prefer a home where he is not expected to be the alpha in the pack. He would be great with dogs over 50 lbs. but is not recommended for homes with small dogs and/or cats. He is good with women, but specifically likes men and would love a man or two to call his own. Mojo is crate trained, leash trained and housebroken. This dog is being fostered in Hayward, CA and is available by appointment only.

About South Bay Purebred Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Established in 1998.

South Bay Purebred Rescue was founded by a few veteran foster homes. Trying to stand out among dozens of other groups, we chose to focus primarily on purebred dogs (although we're still suckers and do take mixed breeds regularly). We are as passionate about finding appropriate forever homes for our dogs as we are about matching the right dog with the adopter. We welcome new volunteers to join us in our effort to save as many adoptable dogs as we can.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have adoption fairs most Saturdays from noon-3:00 at Pet Club in South San Jose.

Our Adoption Process...

We screen by asking a variety of questions in person at our pet fairs or over the phone if we're setting up an appointment during the week. Once a determination has been made that the dog may be a match for your family, you get to meet with the dog and decide if you'd like to adopt. Then you will be given an adoption contract to fill out and sign. Pay the adoption fee and you go home with your new pet!

We are as careful as we can to place dogs in well-matched situations. If we feel that the dog you're interested in is not a good match for your family, schedule, level of experience or any other reason, we will not do the adoption. We will try and guide you to another dog that would be more appropriate for you, but there is no appeal process once an adoption is declined.

We cannot hold dogs. If you decide to wait on making a decision, please be prepared for the fact that the dog you were interested may be adopted by someone else in the meantime.
