Kerby's Story...
Kerby is a year old Whippet/Jack Russell mix guy. As you may imagine he has lots of energy and will need an active home to keep him at his best. He is reported as good with other dogs and may do best with a playmate to keep him entertained and wear off some of the energy. It's also said Kerby is kennel and house trained. Kerby walks on lead but wants to go, go, go and will needs some work on his manners in this department. Kerby is a compact guy who could do well in an apartment setting as long as he receives regular exercise.

If you want to apply for Kerby, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kerby, a Meridian Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
