Russ's Story...
FROM STRAY TO SLEEPING WITH FOSTERS

Bette Grahame wrote...We took the Retriever mix 'Russ' out of Animal Control last week. He is a really nice dog.  He was already neutered and I think he is probably about 2.  He was negative 3 X on heartworm.    I put him in an outside pen at my house  this evening with another very shy dog that I've been fostering.  Russ was in the pen with the other dog when I fed them.  About 10 min. ago I was sitting at my computer and looked down and he was at my feet.  I'm not sure how he got out of the six foot fence and into my house.  It was a warm night and I had the door to my deck open.  The amazing thing is that none of the other dogs in my house (15 of them) barked.    Russ is the one in the middle.

Russ has now migrated to living in the house and sleeping with his fosters at night.  Really NICE DOG!  Russ weighs in at about 50 pounds.  Gets along with other dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Russ, a Lovingston Retriever (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow for sale in Lovingston, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Lovingston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lovingston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lovingston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lovingston paves the way for another one to be saved.
