Cooper's Story...

OCT 11, 2012:

Lucky Cooper is now living at Almost Home.  Come in and visit him.

JULY 12, 2012:

Cooper is now living in foster care.  Fortunately he was saved from Animal Control where he was scheduled to be put down.  He is GREAT with other dogs and children. Very sweet and affectionate. Cooper has not been neutered yet because he tested positive for heartworm  for which he is now being treated.  For more information on Cooper, please contact Deena at (540) 456-8118 or email

JUNE 20, 2012:

Cooper is approximatelty 7 years old...VERY SWEET AND LAID BACK!  When he was brought into the vet's to be neutered, it was discovered that he has heartworm and lyme disease.  We are desperately trying to find a good foster home for him while he is recovering.  He will need to be kept quiet and leash walked only for at least 4 weeks.............the shelter is not the best place to do this !!!

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cooper, a Lovingston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lovingston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lovingston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lovingston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lovingston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lovingston paves the way for another one to be saved.
