Facts about Belle

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 9639313
  • Hair: Short

Belle is a big, beautiful silver-gray tuxedo cat. 13 years old. She is currently back with her original foster family because her adopter is moving to the West Coast and can't take her. She is a sweet-natured cat who gets along with most of the cats in her foster home. She tends to avoid the one who doesn't like her. She is quite happy to sit on the couch by you whenever possible, and she is not at all skittish about strangers who happen to visit. She would do best in a home with one or no other cats. She has lived and gotten along with a Dachshund, as well as with young children with no problems. Given Belle's age, we would be very happy to place her with either an adopter or a long-term foster home.

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
