My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Felix is about 2 or three years old and is a pure bred poodle and weighs 13lbs. Felix was found as a stray at a local state park. Was he lost? No one came to claim him even after fliers were posted all over the park. He found himself at a local animal control and he did not do well there. He got himself a rap as a bad boy because he got nippy with shelter volunteers and didn’t want anyone doing anything to him unless he agreed to it first. Felix can be very sweet and loving when he wants it, but if he doesn’t, well…you just let him be and he is just fine with that. Felix is great on a leash and very good in the car. He is housetrained and enjoys his toys. Felix is dog selective. Some dogs he gets along with okay and others he just does not like. He is not aggressive with other dogs but will bark intensely at them if he does not like them. He is okay with cats. Because of his nippy history, we recommend that he go to an adult only home or a home with older teenagers. He needs a secured yard because he does like to run off. Felix needs to be groomed regularly and he does very well at the groomer. He doesn’t like the vet; however, and he may need to be muzzled for vaccinations or exams. He is in great health and is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations including rabies, and is microchipped. Felix is a gorgeous poodle and while his personality is a bit independent, we know that his right pet parent is out there somewhere. He is a live and let live kind of dog…and as a poodle, he is nonshedding, which is pretty nice! Felix will take several months to warm up to his people but once he does and he becomes relaxed, he is much easier to handle. Felix’s adoption fee is $200.00. Please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com for and adoption application for Felix.
