Here's what the humans have to say about me:
QUICK UPDATE - 5 FEBRUARY 2016: Nellie has moved to a foster home, and we now know that she is both dog- and cat-friendly. She is fostered with another beagle, and got a quick "cat scan" before leaving boarding, which she passed with flying colors. We are monitoring Nellie's tummy issues, and she seems to be doing well.
30 JANUARY 2016: Nellie has now been "kid-tested" with a 3- and 4-year-old boy and girl, and she did very nicely with them. Nellie will be moving to a foster home soon!
25 JANUARY 2016: Due to the weather it took a little while to get done, but we have determined that Nellie is good with kids. She met an 8 year old one-on-one (with supervision), and they did well. Nellie didn’t even snatch his candy when he dropped it!
Nellie is a recent returnee to BREW after her adoptive mom fell on hard times and illness. Nellie is 5 ½ years old and very sweet. She is a smaller beagle (although she is a little chunky at the moment). She rode nicely in the car and left her crate clean and dry after 3 hours. Nellie stayed with one of our foster moms for a couple of nights who reported she likes to sleep in the bed (not on the bed) with her human. She was very outgoing at her kennel and happily approached anyone who came near her. Her only negative is that she has Irritable Bowel Syndrome and requires a prescription dog food (currently Science Diet ID). She walks pretty well on a leash (some tugging, typical beagle). Nellie seems to understand “sit” and may know other commands as well. She is fully vetted and will be moving to a foster home once the BREW vet has checked out her health issue.
