Lewis (ETAA)'s Story...
Lewis is a large 80lb, 1yo, beautiful, brindle colored Mastiff/Boxer mix. He is very friendly and just loves to play. He is food motivated and will be easily trained, he is craving routine and works hard to please. His size could bring down about anyone but he seems to know that and doesn't do a lot of jumping up. Lewis doesn't mind the leash, but needs to brush up on how exactly to walk properly.
Lewis gets along great with other large dogs, never aggressive even when there was a bully on the block that picked on him. He really shied away from the bully when he was running with some of his mates and playing in the yard.
Lewis is very young only about 1 yo, you can see the puppy still in him. He needs a person with a gentle hand and a Lewis size amount of puppy patience for this big adolescent but I believe in my heart it will pay off huge!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lewis (ETAA), a Harrisonburg Mastiff/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/Boxer for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Mastiff/Boxer dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/Boxer breeders who help with Mastiff/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
