My heritage is really a mystery but my foster thinks I move like a German shepherd and sweet like a golden retriever. I was really wild when I came into rescue but I am learning how to channel my energy. I am great with all dogs and love to play. I learned to sit very quickly and I will sit anytime you ask and also know down. I have been outside the fenced yard and love to run, but always come when called. There are horses and mules at my foster home and I bark at them but do not chase them. I have beautiful eyes and will look right at you with love. I need a forever home that will enroll me in obedience so I can learn manners and it will be a good bonding experience for both of us. I am probably around 2 years old, spayed, on heartworm preventive, current on shots and microchipped. I know how to use a doggy door, but will need to be supervised when in the house because I can be like a "bull in a china closet". I need to be crated when riding because I would probably be in your lap if I were loose. An application can be found at www.dfwcollierescue.org and DFW Collie Rescue can be contacted by phone or text message at 214-668-5794. An adoption fee and small fee to register my microchip is required as well as a home visit and reference checks. If you want to come visit with me I will try to slow down long enough to say hi!

About DFW Collie Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

DFW Collie Rescue was founded by Carolyn Edgmon in 2005 with a mission of rescuing collies from the Dallas/ Ft. Worth, Tx. area. Over the years collies from all parts of Texas and Oklahoma have been rescued and adopted. We are a small organization adopting around 25 collies a year and yet since 2005 over 225 collie and collie mixes have been adopted to new forever homes. Carolyn showed and raised collies for over 25 years and has an extensive knowledge of the collies. Foster homes are always needed and must be approved the same as an adopter. Once approved, a foster must agree to the terms of the foster home agreement. Any expenses for the collie in a foster home are paid for by DFW Collie Rescue. Donations are always needed to help pay expenses such as vetting, food, heartworm preventive, etc. Donations may be made via PayPal on our website www.dfwcollierescue.org. 100% of a donation goes for expenses.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Available collies are located 25 miles north of Stephenville, Tx. (about 50 miles southwest of Ft. Worth, Tx.) An appointment may be made to come and visit with the collies.

Our Adoption Process...
