My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) Australian Cattle dog/Border Collie mix in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Madison's life and nursed her body and spirit back to health and well-being. It's now getting to the time when she is ready to be transported to her new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for Madison's Texas foster mom to say goodbye...she knows that she will have a great life. The following is a description of Madison by her foster mom:
--Madison is such a sweet girl just waiting to blossom. I've enjoyed watching her learn that the world can be a loving and positive place. Madison had a hard start - but now she's learning about treats, belly rubs and that she's a very valuable pup! She may very well be initially shy or frightened, but just give her a bit of time and you'll have a new best friend. Madison has the potential to be the sweetest dog in the world! While she is still unsure and a bit shy, it's clear that as each day goes by, she's more comfortable and is just a happier, more relaxed girl. Madison appears to be fine with other dogs (I'll update as I bring her to Home Depot and a local dog boutique for socialization and treats) but noticeably appreciates those that are respectful of her smaller size. Madison has been great with my 14 and 15 year old daughters and me! I haven't seen her around smaller kids, so that's an unknown. She's excellent with my mom, but might be a bit energetic for a very advanced senior. Whoever adopts this gem of a dog is getting a gift. We completely enjoy her wonderful spirit!

Madison loves to run and play outside...she has exactly the appropriate amount of energy for a 12 - 18 month old, 42 lb healthy pup. Madison would do well with a family who is home a lot to hike and play with...she would love that! After she's had exercise and stimulation, Madison is ready to chill on the couch. Madison loves to snuggle, be petted and has been said to not get overly grumpy about much of anything.

Madison's potentially gorgeous coat (so amazing with her beautiful mask and markings) will require just a bit of care...a periodic bath and brushing along with great nutrition would be perfect to keep Madison's coat cottony-soft and shining.

Madison is a truly smart pup - true to her breeds!! What a gem of a best friend for a family or retirees who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their lives. Madison has the potential to be a truly bonded and loyal companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Aussie/Border Collie mix her forever family.

Madison will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/11/16. If interested in this sweet pup who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
