My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Pending. CALLIE (AKA Peanut) is a gorgeous black Lab mix female who gets rave reviews from her foster. Here is what her foster has to say about her. "Sitting here wondering how my foster dog Callie ever ended up homeless. I think she is the most beautiful dog I have ever fostered. She a solid black Lab mix who doesn't have a white spot on her. Her coat is as shiny as silk. She is perfectly proportioned. She has a great personality too. She is a calm gentle happy soul who just soaks up love and gently returns it. Her tail is always wagging. Whoever adopts her will be one lucky person. I've always heard black dogs have a harder time being adopted but it will be their loss. I love all dogs but there is something special about this girl. She plays well with my other dogs and doesn't seem to mind the cat. She is a joy to have around." Callie will soon be 2 years old and weighs between 45 and 50 pounds. She has been spayed and is current on vaccinations. Prior to her rescue, she had been living in an outdoor kennel where she was exposed to various intestinal worms and parasites. The woman who was keeping her and pal Pepper asked for the rescue's help in finding them good inside homes. Callie also tested heartworm positive when first rescued but she has successfully completed the treatment needed to rid her of heartworms. All this happy, healthy girl needs now is a forever home! If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Callie if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care she has received and a microchip.
