Dylan is 55 lbs and approx 2 years old. He's a pitbull mix rescued from a local shelter. Dylan loves laying by your feet or romping around in the backyard with his 2 foster brothers (also large pitbulls). He gets along with all dogs, but might try to play too rough with smaller dogs. Shows no interest toward cats, and coexists with two cats currently. Dylan is crate trained, neutered, chipped, UTD on shots, but will need to build confidence on leash skills as he is very scared of loud or sudden noises (such as cars zooming by). Dylan loves having his chin rubbed underneath and will fall asleep with all of the weight from his head resting on your palm if you rub him. He's a very sweet dog and deserves stability and a gentle owner. I think he would lay in bed with his owner all day if he could. He does bark to alert when he needs to go outside. He is always smiling!
Dylan is UTD on all vaccines, neutered and HW-. He's dog and cat friendly, but sometimes gets over excited with little dogs when playing. Dylan loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. He's a pretty quiet dog, but will let you know when it's time for a potty break. He's crate & potty trained. He currently lives with two other large male dogs and 2 cats whom he enjoys. Dylan can be a bit fearful of loud sounds and fast/sudden movement, but never reacts, he would love a home that can be patient and understanding as he continues to grow his confidence.
If you're interested in possibly adopting Dylan, please go to our website (www.codysfriendsrescue.com/applications.html) and submit an Application to Adopt. It may take us a couple days to review your application and check your vet reference. After we approve your application we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet and home visit. We allow a 10-day home trial to be sure the dog is a good fit before you finalize the adoption. The adoption fee ($200, tax-deductible donation) is collected at the start of the home trial and is held until you finalize the adoption. The adoption fee covers vetting (spay/neuter and age-appropriate vaccinations) and a micro-chip.
Please note: We update our Petfinder listings regularly. If you're reading this bio, this dog is still available for adoption, and we're accepting applications.
We don't adopt pit bulls or pit bull mixes to people who live in apartments with breed restrictions. Please check with your rental office or landlord to see whether breed restrictions apply.
