Newton was at a local shelter and on his last day.  We fell in love with that face.  He is adorable.  He is about 45 lbs and sweet as can be.  He loves to play with other dogs and zero agression in this boy.  He loves people, kids and other dogs.  Newton is about 2 years old and so happy to be alive and running free.
This boy will  not disappoint - great best friend.

If you're interested in possibly adopting Newton, please go to our website ( and submit an Application to Adopt. It may take us a couple days to review your application and check your vet reference. After we approve your application we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet and home visit. We allow a 10-day home trial to be sure the dog is a good fit before you finalize the adoption. The adoption fee ($200, tax-deductible donation) is collected at the start of the home trial and is held until you finalize the adoption. The adoption fee covers vetting (spay/neuter and age-appropriate vaccinations) and a micro-chip.

Please note: We update our Petfinder listings regularly. If you're reading this bio, this dog is still available for adoption, and we're accepting applications.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Cody's Friends Rescue!

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
