Tippy's Story...
Tippy is a 4 year old treeing walker coonhound. He weighs 52 lbs so he is just a medium sized guy. Tippy loves other dogs and does great with kids. He is currently fostered with 5 other big dogs and gets along great with all of them, even at mealtimes. He would be a super dog park dog. He also loves his toys. We think he would do just fine with indoor cats but he will chase outdoor cats. He is potty trained and crate trained, he'll crate nicely when you ask. Other than his big coonhound voice this boy is a terrific indoor dog. We will only accept applications from folks that want him to stay an indoor dog. He'd love a family that let him sleep on the human bed at night but he probably won't hold it against you if he isn't allowed. Tippy would not be a good fit for an apartment. He does have a lot of energy and without a fence he will follow his nose into the next state. We would like to see Tippy have a fenced yard in his new home so he has plenty of space to run and play with his new family. Tippy has a minor allergy that may be seasonal, it is well controlled with inexpensive medication.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tippy, a Manhattan Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
