Lexi's Story...
Lexi is a 4 month old female Doberman puppy we took in after seeing pictures of her on craigslist being sold with very bowed front legs. Her owner surrendered her after talking with her. She has Hypertropic Osteodystrophy which occurs in the front legs of Large Breed puppies who grow too fast due to poor nutrition. She has seen a specialist and Lexi is defiantly doing great and recovering nicely. Both legs are nice and straight now. She can now just enjoy being a puppy, she is fed a large breed puppy food to help her bones grow at the right pace. Lexi is house and crate trained and is good with dogs, kids and cats. She knows sit, down, stay and some other commands as her foster mom works with her daily. She is also good on the leash. She is fostered in Belton, Texas.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a killeen Doberman Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in killeen, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher puppy from a breeder in killeen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in killeen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a killeen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in killeen paves the way for another one to be saved.
