Hi there everybody, my name is Shep and I'm an 18 month old energetic and athletic pup that loves to stay active! I am a sweet and loving pup that is looking for a family that I can show love and loyalty to.

I am looking for either a couple or one companion that I can live an active life with. I don't like other dogs and I'm not a fan of cats, so being in a home where I'm the only pet is best for me. I do like kids, but I'd do best in a home with older kids rather than younger ones because of my energy level.

I'm a fast learner and very intelligent, so any new tricks or manners you want to teach me I'm very happy and willing to learn. I'm already leash and house trained, so I'm good there. I'm up to date on my shots and I'm neutered, but I am heartworm positive so I'm receiving treatment for that. Once my treatment is finished I'll be back to normal health and can continue with my active lifestyle...hopefully with you! :)

I am currently in Madison, Mississippi, and transportation to the New England area is provided by Animal Rescue Front and is included in the adoption fee If you're interested in taking me into your forever home, please fill out the adoption form here:

I hope I get to meet you soon and maybe even be in your forever home!

About Animal Rescue Front, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

ARF started in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and because of the shocking treatment we saw many animals in the Deep South endure and the extremely high kill rates in their shelter systems we have stayed committed to helping animals with a focus in the state of Mississippi. Many of these wonderful animals would be killed in a shelter or abandoned outside if not for our continued efforts.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoptions fees are based on the state you live in. If you are a Massachusetts resident we are required by the Dept. of Agriculture to quarantine for a minimum of 48hrs. the animal you adopt from us. The cost for this quarantine is $120.00 per animal. Our fees are as follow:

Adult dogs 13 months to 5 years - MA resident $475, all others $425.00.
Adult dogs +5 years of age - MA resident $375, all others $325.00
Puppies 12 months and younger - MA resident $550, all others $500.00.

If pre-adoption neutering is not an option for your pup, a refund of $70 will be given to the adopter when proof of neuter is presented to us. Our adoption donation covers the transport to New England and exceptional vetting from our local veterinary teams down south, and local quarantining in MA. As well we reimburse our local rescues down south so they can continue their life saving mission. We do require you to fill out an application and provide a vet reference, and a home inspection may be requested. Every animal we adopt MUST be spayed/neutered and we reserve the right to request proof of this. Our adoption application is on our website at:

Thanks for rescuing!

Please note - we will not adopt a puppy to anyone who is not willing and committed to ensuring their new family member never reproduce. Spaying and neutering your pet contributes to efforts to reduce unwanted and homeless animals in the United States and your animal will be healthier. Our adoption fees are nonrefundable after 30 days. If for whatever reason your adoption is not suitable to you or your adoptee we require the animal be surrendered to us.
