So you think I can fly? Ha ha, I know my ears are magical but trust me, I cannot fly though I'd love to. But I AM a magical dog in my own way, at least I think so. Looking for a low-maintenance apartment dog? I just might be the answer and admit it, I'm super cute. I know humans are on a different level to me and I'm just fine with that. Some may call this submissive but I call it sucking up! And I'm super affectionate and loving and licking and loving and, oh gosh, I just love, love, love. That's my magic. Bring some magic into your life and pick me, please?

Lucy was rescued along with her four eight week old puppies and three older puppies from her previous litter from the veterinarian's office where they were left to be boarded in January 2015. Their owner abandoned Lucy, while she was pregnant, and the veterinarian wanted to take them to the shelter. Luckily a Poochmatch volunteer offered to take the whole family - all of whom have found forever homes except for Lucy. Lucy gets along with all dogs, male and female, large and small - she has a gentle, mellow temperament. She would do great in an apartment setting as she is quiet. She is house-trained, crate-trained and leash-trained, up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped.

If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between noon and 4 pm, please fill out an application from our website,, and return it via email to no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster mom.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, necessary vaccinations, fecal testing and deworming. Adoption fees vary solely based on age and size.

About Poochmatch

About Our Rescue Group...

I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. I do what I do because I enjoy connecting all the dots - full circle - in terms of rescuing dogs, getting them cleaned up, treated medically and then adopted.

Poochmatch is a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers. Since our founding in 2006, we have done over 2,400 dog adoptions. We are on track to do over 300 in 2016.

We'd love to have more assistance. We need help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. Please see for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption events are generally held every Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda (Savi Ranch) 5521 Mirage Street from noon to 4 pm. To confirm we will be holding an adoption event, call Lydia at 714-241-9765.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers.

All prospective adopters must complete and adoption application. Upon receipt and review (usually within 24 hours), a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation sufficient to cover the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip. The adoption fee for young or adult dogs is generally $225 - $275. The adoption fee for puppies varies from $325 to $425. The adoption fee always includes the cost of spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella), De-worming and Fecal Testing.
