Zip's Story...
Hi there! I'm Zip! My brother, Ziggy, and I are playful, fun, and energetic kittens. We love to play with toys and we promise you will laugh at our antics. But there is a loving side to us too, we love to held and petted, then we start purring and get comfy in your arms. Ziggy and I love each other, bathe each other, snuggle together, eat together and would love to go to our forever home together but it's not a necessity. We will miss each other but we are both confident enough to go to our own forever home. We can't wait to meet you!

Zip's adoption fee is $40; he is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Some of our pets are in foster care. If you are interested in a specific pet, please contact the shelter at (618) 939-7389 to arrange a meeting.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zip, a Columbia Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
