My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Wendy.
I use to live with this elderly man, a chihuahua and a jack russell. One day our elderly man started getting very confused and had to go live in this nursing home which would not allow us to go with him. So his family brought all of us to Chicago Animal Control Center, a high-kill, overcrowded shelter and handed us over.
Pretty quickly, this really sweet lady came and got me out of there, and thankfully my friends made it out of that scary place too. She told me right away what my "3 stop plan" was gonna be. She told me I would have to stay at the first stop for a few weeks, then I would go to a foster home (2nd stop) and she said she knew I would find my furever home (3rd stop) soon after that because I am so sweet. So she dropped me off at this really nice vet where I got all cleaned up (even though I wasn't that dirty), but they did spay me, gave me all my immunizations, and cleaned my teeth too. They took such good care of me at this new place and gave me so much love but I knew I still wasn't at that "furever home" everyone keeps telling me about.
After I recovered from surgery and was cleared of any respiratory infections, can you believe that first really nice lady showed up again for me and told me she was gonna be my "foster mom" so off we went to her house for stop #2 in our plan. I was so delighted to see her "big" fur babies when we got there and they are so nice to me, they even let me boss them around a little. There is a cat here too and I'm so interested in her because she is more my size, but unfortunately there is no bossing her around. This cat has obviously bossed many dogs around in her time and she let me know that SHE is actually the boss, so I'm leaving her alone like she asked me to do.
My foster mom keeps saying how affectionate I am and can't believe how much I wag my tail the second she makes eye contact with me. She is so impressed that I am potty trained but I love to go outside to do my business and it's what her dogs do, so I'm not sure why this is so surprising to her. I also love that she has this huge fenced in backyard, because I've spent a lot of time in little cages lately, and when I'm out there I really love to run at full speed. She did set me up with a nice comfy cage to sleep in and its so comfy I even like to just hang out in it with the door open.
She keeps saying that she also finds it amazing that as much loss, change and confusion I have had to deal with these past few weeks, I am still just fine emotionally, so trusting and so uber happy. She can't find any negatives with me, except maybe that I make her sprinkle parmesan cheese on my food if she wants me to eat it.
So far everything she has told me has happened for me and I just have one more stop to go in our plan. I can't wait for this to happen so I can give my very own someone all my love, because I really do have a lot of it to give.

Wendy was born approx. 2012. She will need another dog in the home with her. Children need to be at least 10. She's located in IL
