Gunnar's Story...
Hi people! My name is Gunnar. I’m a male, neutered German Shepherd Dog about 3 years old. I know my basic commands, am fully housebroken, walk nice on the leash, and am good with people, other dogs, cats, and children over the age of 4. I love the little pool my foster mom bought me to play in during these hot summer months. Unfortunately, I arrived with heartworm and have since been treated and ready for my forever home. I have been fully vetted and therefore up to date on my immunizations. I love to play with all the toys-I will even retrieve the ball (well I might not give it up right away).
I would love to have a fenced yard to play in, but a fence is not required if you can exercise me enough to burn my energy. I would also thrive with the company of sibling to play with

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gunnar, a Romeoville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Romeoville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Romeoville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Romeoville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Romeoville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Romeoville paves the way for another one to be saved.
