My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ!! Our orphans are located in KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE. We encourage you to read through ALL of the adoption information to answer any questions you may have and to avoid unnecessary emails. If after you have read all of the adoption info you still have questions or concerns we would be happy to answer them for you. www.southernrootsrescue.org

Meet Conan! This yellow lab mix, probably not two years old yet, is looking for a home that can let him spring into action! Full of energy, he would make a great training buddy (with a little training himself) or wonderful playmate for another dog. He is too rough and active for small children, but would be fine for children in middle school or high school.
Coming from an awful situation, Conan had been kept in a filthy storage building for months with no outdoor activity, playtime, or things that are important to young active dogs..The poor thing hasn't had much happiness so far and deserves the very best forever home. Conan doesn't seem to know what a television is and is getting used to being inside a home. His senses are charged up... he is very curious, and everything seems to be a new experience! It's fun to watch! Despite his sad beginnings, he is happy and playful and progressing well. Conan is working on potty training, is crate trained, LOVES chew toys and fetching, and is learning to walk on a leash.
The ideal home for Conan would have a large fenced yard, an active family, and someone willing to work with him and bring him to obedience classes. If Conan sounds perfect for your family, please visit our website, read through the adoption information, and fill out an application at www.southernrootsrescue.org
