Diego's Story...

Diego was found with his pal Dora at the Field of Dreams in Basehor. When no one claimed them, Basehor Animal Control called LCHS. We agreed to vet the pair, but had no foster home to care for them.....All full up!! Unfortunately, the veterinarian's office didn't understand that, and called us to come get them after they recovered from surgery! We scrambled, and found boarding for Dora & Diego at AniPals, but it will be much better for them to be in a home. They're nice cats, like to lounge, play, and cuddle. We'll adopt them together for one standard adoption fee of $90, which only pays for a TINY bit of the care we've provided, but it does help us to save other pets in the future. LCHS adoption process includes an application, vet reference check and a home visit, so we can make the best match for the pet, and for the family! E-mail LvnCoHS@live.com to meet Diego.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diego, a Lansing Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lansing, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lansing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lansing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lansing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lansing paves the way for another one to be saved.
