Sugar's Story...

Sugar was adopted as an 8 week old kitten by a couple who absolutely adored her, but being a singleton for the past 3 years, she’s gotten to be a little boisterous. They asked us to take her back, and of course we did!! Sugar CAN be a sweet girl, just needs to relearn some manners and boundaries. We have one of our “cat whisperers” working with her and she’s doing better every day. Updated photo pending, but we do have a baby pictures! Standard adoption fee is $90 for cats, which helps to pay for the care Sugar has received, and allows us to help other pets in the future. To meet Sugar, email for application.

Sugar, a Lansing Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lansing, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lansing.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lansing already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lansing breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lansing paves the way for another one to be saved.
