My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BELLA is a 7 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 62 pounds. Bella is an owner give up. A description from her owner: Bella is a very sweet, attention-loving, playful girl. She likes both men and women, well- whoever gives her the most head scratches! She is also good with kids, however sometimes she tends to play a little too hard, so older children would be a better fit. I have had Bella ever since she was pup, she loves to go on walks, play in the ocean and of course, fetch! She takes a few minutes to warm up to other dogs, but will join in on the party after a bit. Bella has never been around cats, so I'm not sure how she'd react. She walks well on a leash with a little pulling, she's used to collars, and harnesses, and does well on both. Bella is crate trained, and is very well house trained. Bella has a sensitive stomach and is on a prescription diet (Purina DCO). She was fed 2 cups of food twice a day. She doesn't like to ride but we were working on that. Bella is a wonderful dog, with a great spunky attitude ready to take on the world, right after a nap on the couch! Thank you for taking her and getting her a new home. Bella is good with other dogs. Bella is an owner give up due to divorce wife took 3 Chihuahua's and husband took Bella. Recently he had a change at work requiring travel and longer hours and ex-wife contacted us to see if we could find Bella a new home. She is approved for kids 10+.

Note: Bella must have a physical fence.

Update (12/04):Bella has been at the Weaver's Home for Wayward Labs for the past month and is doing very well. She fits in here without problems. Bella gets along with the Weaver pack and Bella & Jake are a pair to behold, where one is the other is normally right behind. We had to change Bella's collar as the one she had on looked so much like Jakes it was hard to tell them apart and to which one you were talking to. Bella and Jake like to play together to see which one gets worn out first. She can be left alone and doesn't get in trouble which is more than I can say for Jake. Bella should go to a home with another dog as she likes to be with one of ours most of the time.
Bella has a high prey drive and think she would run right through an underground fence if she was chasing something, so must have a physical fence. The only quirk I have found is she will bark and talk when she is riding in a car, we are working on this. Bella will come when called, uses a doggie door, sits and waits for treats or meals, will go outside to do her business when you tell her to. She doesn't need to be on a lead; however, she does not mind if she has one on. Kids 10 and up, she has been around children but hasn't lived with any. No Cats she will chase them. Good with other dogs once she has met them. Knows basic commands. Completely house and crate trained. Doesn't need a crate, we have a crate set up for Jake and the door is left open she often goes in there to take a nap. Sleeps on a dog bed in our bedroom.
