Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ROCKY is a 4 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 85 pounds. He was first adopted through Lab Rescue in 2013 when he was found as a stray, but his family’s circumstances have changed so they’ve had to make the heart-wrenching decision of helping him find a new family. He’s a big handsome boy, and he knows it, weighing approximately 85 lbs. He’s very gentle and relaxed, except when there are squirrels around, but is strong and has a lot of energy so he would love a huge ‘tall-fenced’ yard and is a great daily running companion. He sometimes forgets how big he is so it’s best if he goes to a family with children no younger than 5. He’s grown up with just humans so is a bit of a loner when it comes to other dogs, mostly ignoring them except when one comes along that he really likes or one that makes him nervous, so it’s best if he doesn’t have any dog or cat siblings.
Like pretty much all labs, he loves the outdoors, swimming, running, sniffing to the point that he could be a hound, playing in the snow, chasing after balls, squirrels and birds (although he doesn’t always want to give them back), cuddling, and of course the always necessary belly rub after a dramatic flop on the floor. He likes his toys and picking up after his humans, but isn’t destructive in any way. He’s a bit of counter surfer, food motivated, barks when he wants something or is nervous, and likes to lead when being walked. He’s been through training and knows what his humans are telling him, but is a bit stubborn and benefits from consistent discipline, which he doesn’t mind too much. Rocky, and his current family, really hopes he can find a new family to cuddle up with and look after. Rocky is approved for kids ages 5+. More info soon!!!
