My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dudley is a 1 ½ year old Beagle mix that weighs 21 pounds with soft fur. He came to HART from a shelter that picked him up as a stray. He is a robust pup that would do well with children of all ages. He is very playful with people or other dogs. He likes to chase or be chased by other dogs. He appears to be fine with cats, just ignores them, in the two encounters he has had with the foster. He likes to be close to his human friends and loves attention. He is a very friendly and confident dog and wants to meet everyone he sees. He rides well in a car, likes to run in the yard, and doesn’t mind the snow or rain. On real cold days he does come back into the house after a short stay outside. Dudley will sit on your lap or next to you when watching TV and enjoys ear and belly rubs. Dudley likes to chew on nylon bones, antlers pieces, and bones. He is not a watch dog, when a stranger comes into the house he goes right up to them for a pet. He is not a big barker.

Dudley responds to “no” or a stern voice very quickly, and in a way that indicates that he has been hit before being rescued. He is crate trained and is house trained. However, he sleeps with the other 5 dogs in the foster home, free to roam around the house. Dudley is a hearty eater and would probably gain weigh fast if give too much food, but is his perfect weight now. He likes baby carrots for treats. He is a very sweet boy who loves everyone and is looking for a forever home.

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative meds for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in Dudley please go to www.rescueahart.org and complete an adoption application that will put you in touch with this loving dog’s foster so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks
