Here's what the humans have to say about me:
February 2016 update: Ruby is in foster with us now and we can't even recognize the scared girl we first met. She is eating well and loves meeting new people. She is a sweet sweet girl! She has met children and has no problem, she has enjoyed playing with her foster mom's kids in the snow and keeping everyone entertained. She plays with other dogs well and is just a darling, energetic lady! She is learning to walk on leash with the use of the gentle leader and is learning how to have good manners on a walk.
Ruby is 49 lbs and the vet estimates she is about one year old. She was found as a stray in central Maine. What a beautiful little face!
One of our volunteers recently took her to the vet for a checkup and vaccines and Ruby was nervous in the car, and needed encouragement and help to get in. Once out of the car though, she was full of energy and so friendly with everyone she met there. She met a cat at the office with a lot of curiosity but no aggression. She started baying in the office so that tells us she is part hound of some kind!
Will you help us find Ruby a forever family?

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
