My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pete is looking for a very special home. He is a calm, gentle, loving soul that appreciates all the attention he is given.
He came to Lucky Lab Rescue a shell of a dog that had not experienced any good things in life. He did not know about living in a home or that a human could give him kisses and love. He has been worked with in an experienced foster home. He loves all the attention he can get from humans. Pete weighs in at about 70# and is around 6 1/2 years of age.
Pete is looking for a home in Indiana or within 100 miles of Lafayette. This is to help him in his transition from his foster home to his new furever home. He is timid when dealing with new situations.
Pete will need his new people to be patient as he adjusts to living in their home. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He is afraid of new routines, situations and places, but that is less and less. He has learned some confidence.
He plays very well with all the other dogs in his foster home. He ignores the cats even when they snuggle up to him wanting to share a bed.
Pete would like to live in a quieter home. He would love a 4 legged brother or sister to help him learn the ropes. Due to a quieter home, Pete would do best in a home with no children.
Pete also has a unique congenital double jointed front shoulders. He has been examined thoroughly by Lucky Lab's rescue trained vet and she says he is just fine and should experience no issues. When he walks his front shoulders appear to turn out. He can walk and run just fine and has no pain or issues concerning his front shoulders.
If you feel you could offer this special boy what he needs to live out a wonderful life, please go to
luckylabrescue.com and click on application. Type Pete in the notes section at the bottom of the application.
Pete has been vetted, neutered, wormed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and is on heartworm preventative. He is available for adoption in Indiana.
