Pumpkin's Story...
My name is Pumpkin. I am a really big orange tabby boy. I was trapped with a friend of mine in February of 2014 and we went to live with my foster mom. I came from a dangerous place and couldn’t go back. I was probably born in May, 2013. My friend was adopted but I don’t want to be held and petted like people would want in a pet. I’m actually friendly to a certain point. My foster mom can pet me when she gives me my wet food but if she continues too long I will back away. She can’t pick me up or hold me. I will stay about 2 feet away from her to see what she is doing but I won’t get any closer. I love the other cats I live with and I need to be with other cats for company. My foster mom has 2 big dogs and I get along with them just fine. I don’t bite or hiss. I’m really pretty laid back.

I could be adopted as a companion to another cat, or as an inside/outside cat. I am neutered, litterbox trained, am up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you would like to give Pumpkin an opportunity for a better life, please fill out a Barn Cat Application on our website. Please go to to access the Stray Cat Blues page, where you can see information on our adoption process and access a link to our online adoption application. And Thank You for considering adopting this cat.

We have many Barn Cats that are currently available, needing homes. If you have a home that needs or could accommodate a couple of Barn Cats (outdoor cats), go to for more information on our Barn Cat Program. We have Barn Cats of all ages, many different colorings. They are spayed/neutered and healthy. Some friendlier, others more shy, all in need of a place to call their own. Most of our Barn Cats come from situations where they were living in dangerous conditions. You can make a big difference by adopting Barn Cats!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pumpkin, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
