My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LUKE is a 7 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 62 pounds. Luke is a sweet boy with a lot of energy who behaves more like a 3 or 4 year old. He likes to go on long walks, and he loves to retrieve tennis balls in the yard. He likes to always carry something in his mouth, a toy or a ball. He is house trained and crate trained. Luke will let you know when someone is at the door, and he needs slow introductions to new people coming in the house. He has a high prey drive, so he's not approved for cats. Luke plays well with other dogs. He knows sit, heel, and come. Luke is looking for a one or two-person family where things are quiet and not a lot of people or kids are coming and going. Training sessions will be very beneficial to develop a bond with his new adopter(s). He also loves to roll on his back for belly rubs. Note: Luke needs to go to a home with a solid fenced-in yard. He needs to go to a home where it's calm without a lot of people coming and going. Not approved to live in the city, apartment or townhouse complex. Luke is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update:: Luke continues to do well and loves to play around and retrieve the ball. He's been in his foster home for almost a year. Watch Luke play here: https://youtu.be/rFtgpkkW40U

Update:: 10 things you didn't know about Luke
1. His favorite color is yellow. (obviously)
2. Favorite Movie - Anything with a dog as the star...because dogs are the best!
3. Favorite person - Anyone with treats
4. Least favorite person - Anyone with the nerve to bring bills to his foster dads house.
5. Thinks wagging his tail back and forth is boring so he wags in a circle.
6. Has incredible paw eye coordination, he can catch a corn puff in the air from 20'
7. Thinks street food is the best, (that's food literately off the street)
8. He is very curious. Uses his nose to poke everything within reach and get a good sniff.
9. He is bilingual and understands both English and Spanish.
10. He thinks going for walks is pretty much the best thing ever.

Update : What a fun boy Luke has been. He has been super happy since the weather has warmed up. He shows how happy he is by rolling on his back and kicking all four paws in the air at the same time. Very funny to watch. He loves it if you come over and scratch his belly while he's in the middle of his inverted dance. He would love to go to someone who likes the outdoors and sniffing pee as much as he does. Ok he can make an exception to the sniffing pee part but they should love outdoors at least.
