My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

La la la-la la la, Sing a happy song. La la la-la la la, Smurf your whole day long. Smurf along with me! Simple as can be.
Next time you're feeling blue just let a smile begin, Happy things will come to you... So smurf yourself a grin!
[Gargamel speaks] I'll get all of you if it's the last thing I ever do! Hehehehe!
Okay okay so some folks like smurfs and others share Gargamel's sentiments. However! We have a Smurf you will absolutely adore! Our Smurf is a 2 year old white and cream Dachsund/wire hair Terrier mix who currently weighs 12 lbs. He came into rescue pretty skinny and while he has gained a little weight he could stand to put on a couple more pounds. Smurf is an adorable little guy who is great around kids and other dogs. He does not have any kitty friends in foster so we are not sure how he feels about them. We can say he is small and friendly and would likely not have issues with them. Smurf has been learning all kinds of new and wonderful things since being pulled into rescue, like how to live inside a warm comfortable house with lots of love. He has done a super job with his house training and is already crate trained. Smurf is really 'smurfy' (we had to say it at some point) on leash. He loves his daily walks and is quite ready for a nap afterwards. Foster mom jokingly attributes this to little legs and being tired. Smurf has learned a few basic commands as well. He sits for treats and almost has his shake down. He loves toys but is partial to the squeaky ones, after all, we can't resist squeaking them at the store so we totally get it! One of our favorite things about Smurf is what a snuggle pup he is. He loves to curl up in a little ball and lay on your lap, what you are doing is irrelevant, he's there for the cuddles. Smurf is already neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on preventatives. This sweet little boy is ready to bring a smile to your face and put a happy smurfy tune in your heart. We know Gargamel is a bad guy but if you put his words in a positive context, then perhaps you should get Smurf, it just won't be the last thing you do. No....there will be many days and years of friendship, laughter, joy, and perhaps the occasional secret tear shared. All in all having THIS Smurf in your life as a forever loved and cherished family member would be about the smurfiest thing you could ever do.
