Zip's Story...
We’d like to introduce Zip! He, and two others came to AZCR due to their owner being in the hospital, preparing to become their guardian angel. Her last wish was that they find loving forever homes, and we promised to make sure that wish comes true for them all! Zip is a 1.5 years old, Blue Merle Chihuahua, (quite the rare coloring) and he sure is one stunning little boy! He’s 7 pounds, neutered, up to date on all of his shots, and will be chipped prior to adoption. Due to being too big to show (1lb over the limit), Zip was training for agility Competitions, so would love to find a home that will at least continue that training, or work him at home with agility equipment, to burn off some of his energy. Zip does have some aggression towards other young male dogs, but does just fine with female dogs his size. He also should not go to a home with any children under the age of 12. He and his 2 fur siblings, will need some time to decompress and adjust, as they have had little attention the past month or so, after their Mommy went to the hospital. So they will not be available for adoption until the end of February. But we are accepting applications now!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zip, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
