Lil-Bit's Story...
Hi There! My name is Little Bit. Aren't I adorable? I am 2.5 years old and spayed, up to date on vaccines and on heartworm preventative. My foster mom says I am VERY sweet, but VERY timid. No one knows why I have such a confidence problem, because I came with other pugs, and they are not shy and quiet like I am. From all accounts, I was surrendered from a home that took good care of me. The nice people at MMR think I am just confused because I am in a new place, and will slowly feel comfortable with lots of patience, assurance and love. I am housebroken, but have had a few accidents, again because I am learning a new schedule. My foster family wants to stress that I am a delightful little pug, and very easy to love and live with. I am not always sad. I just tend to get nervous if someone stands over me or reaches out to pick me up or pet me. I like to come to them on my own terms. My foster family thinks I will be fine once I realize everything is going to be O.K. They say some dogs just take it harder than others when they loose their homes...and I am one of those dogs. I will cower and lay flat if anyone reaches to pet me or pick me up....but I don't growl or anything...just freeze up. I am happiest right now when I can feel safe and be next to someone on the couch. I also like to snooze in my special indoor pen. I get scared if put in a crate, so I cannot be placed in one right now. I love children, but will do best with older ones who understand that I am still a baby, and very scared, and may take some time to warm up to them. I need a home with a fenced yard, as I might be a little to timid to walk on a leash...but just for now. I need someone who can be patient with me, and is willing to wait for me to show them that I love and trust them on my own time line. MMR knows without a doubt that I am a sweet, gorgeous pug. I would never be aggressive. My sensitive nature will require someone who has experience with dogs like me, and the patience to teach me to trust again. I am very young and will live a long life....so the short term investment of the extra time to get me over this "hump" will be returned with a lifetime of a loving, devoted pug girl. Please fill out an application and apply for me today! go to www.muttsmatterrescue.com My adoption fee is $375

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lil-Bit, a Rockville Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Rockville, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Rockville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockville paves the way for another one to be saved.
