Dumpling's Story...
Pug Puppy

Fostered in Crofton, MD
November 25th, 2011
My name is Dumpling. I am approximately 7 months old. I was rescued out of shelter in southern MD. The shelter thought I had ringworm, and had me quarantined for 5 weeks. It turned out I just had demodectic mange. So I was treated by the rescue for that, and am now almost completely well. This kind of mange is NOT contagious at all. I also had some eye issues, but that has also been treated with antibiotics and drops. It's healing nicely, and we don't expect any more problems with my eye. Since I am recovering from mange (which lowers the immune system's ability to fight off infection), I will not be neutered until the first week of December. The rescue wants to make sure I am completely well before they do that.
Other than my skin, I am a completely normal puppy in every other way. I love to play with toys, I love to run around, and I love people. I would love a new home before the new year. Like most pugs, I am loyal and lovable.
My adoption fee is $400 and covers the cost of all of my vetting, my neuter, and my microchip.
Thank you for choosing rescue!

December 19th-I am neutered, my skin is healed, and I am good as new!! I have no vision in my one eye, but I still see just fine. It doesn't slow me down at all.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dumpling, a Rockville Pug puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Rockville, or seeking a Pug puppy from a breeder in Rockville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockville paves the way for another one to be saved.
