Oreo's Story...
Sweet and Mellow Japanese Chin

Fostered in Columbia,MD

4/1-My name is Oreo. I am a 3-4 year old. 12lb, Japanese Chin. I was saved out of shelter in Delaware where I was confiscated as part of a cruelty case. I was one of 46 dogs saved from a life of misery. Considering what I've been through, it's amazing how incredibly sweet and loving I am. I wag my tail as soon as you come to pick me up or pet me. I really love being held and brushed, and crave human contact. Like most dogs, I am super forgiving and love humans despite how they have treated me in my past. I love to be carried around and have a very gentle temperment. The rescue isn't sure if I am house trained yet or not. I am good with other dogs and with cats.
I am super deserving of a home that will treat me with kindness and respect.

My adoption fee is $350, which covers the cost of my neuter, my transport that got me here to safety, and my routine vetting and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Rockville Japanese Chin dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Japanese Chin for sale in Rockville, or seeking a Japanese Chin dog from a breeder in Rockville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Japanese Chin breeders who help with Japanese Chin rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockville paves the way for another one to be saved.
