Gabby is a two-year-old Rat Terrier mix, approx. 40 lbs.  She is spayed; up-to-date on all vaccines, inc. 2015 rabies shot; house-trained; current on hw preventative; gets along with other dogs.  Will chase birds, squirrels, and rabbits; unsure whether cat-friendly.  Requires secure back yard, such as a privacy fence - can dig if bored (typical of terrier breed).  Loves peanut butter treats and Nylabones and to her credit, does not grab dog biscuits when offered; also, she loves to chew on her blankies, as though they were pacifiers!  Regarding crating, she isn't exactly fond of crates but if the door is open to a crate, she may or may not enter.

Gabby is very affectionate - she "thinks she's a small dog" - loves to jump in your lap!  In other words, she craves attention.  She is leash-trained and enjoys walks; tends to pull in the beginning, then paces herself.
Gabby is a delightful, medium-sized, energetic dog.  She would most likely do well with older children (because she is so enthusiastic, she could possibly knock over a younger child).  She enjoys both canned- and dry-food diet.  She doesn't especially like water or being bathed.

Gabby will "sit" on command.  True to form, she tends to be a bit independent but usually comes when her name is called. She likes to play ball but doesn't always fetch.  Dog sweaters she tolerates well but last winter was playing with a bigger dog and the jacket fell to pieces during playtime!

Gabby bonds quickly and thrives on being part of a family.  She will give of herself as a lifelong companion.

You must complete an application before being able to visit a dog. If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship.

Upon interest in one of our dogs, please send an email inquiry to and tell a little bit about your family, an adoption application will be sent to you.  A complete application is reguired before a meet-n-greet or home visit by us with the dog to ascertain the fit between dog and family.  Meet-n-Greets are by appointment only.  Please note that we require you to be age 21 or older to adopt a dog.

Vet references and a home visit required.  I am an indoor dog with outdoor privileges.  All of our dogs are house & crate trained.  Homes with fenced in yards are preferred.  All our pets are spayed/neutered, and  up to date on their shots prior to adoption.  Adoption fee of $185 goes towards the cost of care for this pet and future animals we rescue.

About Robyn's Nest Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Robyn's Nest founded in 2004, is a small grass roots animal rescue, dedicated to helping the stray, abandoned and abused animals in Nashville and surrounding areas. We are 100% Volunteer run & operated. We are 'grass-roots' rescue, we receive no grants or special funding. We operate solely on our own funds and contributions from friends and supporters. Our secondary goal is to assist and educate the residents in the area on proper care for their animals. Such as the importance of spaying and neutering your animals and providing your pets with the proper vet care and upkeep, discouraging the tethering of dogs 24/7, our motto is all dogs should be indoor dogs with outdoor privileges. Since November of 2004 approx 3500 (as of 2/2013) animals have been rescued. The animals enjoy a full rich life here & in Foster Homes until their forever home comes along. All the animals are completely vetted and kept current on their vacinations. When old enough and healthy enough, all animals are spayed/neutered before going to their new FURever homes. We often adopt out of state and arrange safe, humane transport to our adopters. While under our care they receive training, socialization and loving care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our rescue dogs live in private foster homes. Meet-n-greets are by appointment only. An application must be submitted prior to an appointment being set.

Our Adoption Process...

We accept donations to offset the cost of vetting and so we can assist other animals. We require home visits, vet references, and personal references. All animal are indoor animals with outside privileges, fenced in yards are preferred We require a signed adoption agreement, and a spay/neuter contract (for puppies & kittens).
