My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Barney. I am ~9 years young. I'm in great shape and can't wait to find a forever home. I'm a fairly laid back little guy. I sometimes bark when a stranger comes into my space, but quickly warm up with a proper introduction. I know what you want me to do when I go outside, but I might not be the happiest camper about it on a rainy day. Who wants to go out in that?!? I love to lay on a blanket next to my human while she watches tv in the evening. During the day I like to play with my big green ball or curl up in a doggie bed while my human works. I sleep quietly through the night and don't fuss over every little noise during the day. What more could you want? Please Click on the link below and fill out an application for me. You'll be glad you did!

If you are interested in adopting Barney, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Barney's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Barney will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
