Clementine is a sweet and sensitive little lady.  Clemmie (as her foster mom affectionately calls her) starts off very shy around new people.  With time, she will open herself up, especially once she realizes that you’re the one that gives her food.  She’s a pretty quiet cat, but does have a cute little meow that you’ll hear on occasion; usually when she hears you opening a can of wet food.

At about 2 years old, Clementine has plenty of playtime energy.  Feather dancers and string are some of her favorite toys, and playing with them is one of her ways of showing she feels safe with you.  The play time is a great way to help build her up her confidence.  She also loves receiving pets, but appreciates being approached gently nobody likes to get startled after all.

Clementine would love to find a home with a patient guardian who is willing to help bring her out of her shell.  She could be happy as an only cat, or may do well with another easygoing cat who won’t try to bully her.

Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formed by long term volunteers from Oakland Animal Services (OAS) and other Bay Area shelters. We have partnered with OAS to take the cats who are least likely to do well in a shelter setting. About Cat Town

About Our Rescue Group...

Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) cat rescue organization based in Oakland, CA. Formed by volunteers of Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (Oakland's municipal shelter), our mission is to find homes for the cats least likely to be adopted from OAS because they can't handle the stress of the shelter environment. By getting these cats into foster homes, they can relax and show their true personalities to potential adopters. We focus on older semi-feral kittens, stressed, shy or undersocialized cats, and cats who are older and/or have special needs. We are a relatively new organization and are all-volunteer run. We operate on a shoestring budget so can always use financial donations, as well as food, litter and other supplies. We are always looking for great foster homes and volunteers for everything that we do. Helping these vulnerable cats is pure joy! Please contact us at info@cattownoakland.org to get involved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, but some are in surrounding cities. Our fosters are generally very flexible about scheduling cat introductions.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, or other nearby cities. We will talk to you by phone to make sure the cat sounds like a good fit for your home before setting up an introduction in the foster home. We have a pretty straightforward adoption application, which you will be asked to complete only after you have met a cat who you want to adopt. Our adoption fees for kittens and cats up to age 7 are $50 for a single cat or $75 for pair; cats age 8 an older are $35 for a single cat or $50 for a pair. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations and microchipped. Cats age six months or older are tested for FIV/FeLV.
