My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tommy is a very stoic dog. I believe he lived outside his entire life because he doesn't like to come inside, no matter what the weather. He will sit outside shaking before we get him inside the house. He only plays outside with his foster sister. He came to our house scared of everything. Any movement of any kind, he falls to the floor on all fours. When he gets scared at even the littlest things, he shakes. He is a few percent better, but still needs a lot of work. He does not like to come in the door. He goes out fine, but when you call him to come in, he comes to the door, puts his head about a quarter of the way in, and then turns around and walks away. We have to carry him in. He did come in for the first two weeks when we got his foster sister about twice a day out of the ten times a day he went out. Now, though, he is back to not coming in. We are working on that. We don't think he had much human contact. He doesn't shy away that much now, to us, but new people, it takes awhile. He doesn't shy away from us petting him, but no emotion is shown. When he sits on the couch with us, it is on the other side from where we are sitting. He is a good watch dog. He is house trained. He LOVES to go on long walks. He rides well in the car. He definitely needs another dog, like his foster sister, MoMo. We think Tom and Momo should be adopted together, so please make sure to read their bios as a pair. Tommy needs to find love, patience, understanding and a quiet home. He needs someone who is experienced with dogs that are afraid and needs a buddy to help him. He is a great dog, but needs to learn confidence. He just needs a chance.
