Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emma is an 18 month old Lab/Shepherd mix girl. She is shy (will bark at new people) but has loads of love to give. She has lots of energy and loves being thrown a ball and is a great retriever-- you never have to fight her to get the ball back. She loves it when she comes back into the house and we’ve hidden wee treats around the sitting room and usually finds them all within a matter of minutes.
Emma is gentle with with the puppy she lives with when they are playing tug of war. And although she’ll chase the cats outside a little, she’s really gentle with them as well. She’s great with kids and loves when they interact with her. Emma’s favorite treat is a bully stick, as it takes her a while to eat it. She loves her food!
Emma is great as sit and stay, lay down, giving a paw and laying down to wait for you to give the ok for her to eat her dinner. She loves her green dinner bowl and will bring it to you when she wants to be fed. She is pretty good at sleeping and being on her own but does prefer to have some good company. Emma loves a good cuddle and will follow you around wherever you go. She is a runner so she will follow her nose so she needs a home with a fenced yard. She’s not the best on a leash because she wants to control the pace and lets her excitement take over her better judgement. She loves the water and is an ok swimmer--we’ve only had her out a few times though. Emma is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. And Emma would do best in a home without another female dog.
(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email CHEW Dog Rescue at pawsontherun@gmail.com and ask for the adoption application form. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
