Mara's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with cats.

Mara's Story...
Mara, with her sister Athena and brother Nemo, were backyard feral kittens... born totally wild. They were trapped when Mom was trapped for spaying, and it was decided that these little ones could have a good chance for a warm, safe, inside home.

Mara loves to be petted! She rolls over and goes right to sleep... until you stop, and then she looks at you so cute, you have to start petting her again. She is a grey Calico... very pretty

Athena and Nemo can be seen here also.

They were untouchable at first. After a week they could be touched but weren't very happy about it. They have never hissed or scratched... just been wary and backed away.
The week after that, Mara was rolling over for pets! Athena took another week, and Nemo the week after that.
They are now 2 months older and playing with us, with other cats and snuggling up for pets! Perfect kittens! They have always used the litterbox well, and are very happy to nap on a bed.

An adopter will need to understand their history and know to be slow with them. Once they know they are safe, they are fine.

They are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mara, a Rosamond Calico kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Rosamond, or seeking a Calico kitten from a breeder in Rosamond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rosamond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rosamond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rosamond paves the way for another one to be saved.
