Hannah's Story...
Hannah is an adorable little shih tzu who we pulled from New Britain Animal Control a few months ago.

It turned out that Hannah was pregnant! Shortly after coming into our rescue she gave birth to 6 totally adorable little puppies.

Hannah has been one terrific mom - and she is also one terrific dog! She is lovable, playful, and just enjoys being part of a family. She gets along well with other dogs, and will also be fine with cats.

Hannah also absolutely loves children of all ages :)

Because of her pregnancy and then her nursing her puppies, Hannah's vetting and spay surgery had to be postponed.

Now that all of her puppies have been weaned, Hannah has be spayed and is current with all vaccines. She is therefore now available for adoption.

This sweet little girl will make an absolutely wonderful family member!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hannah, a Groton Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Groton, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Groton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groton paves the way for another one to be saved.
