Gem's Story...
Gem
Female
Chihuahua Mix
DOB: 7/12/14
Weight: 5 Pounds

Gem may be small but she is a bundle of love and affection. She is somewhat shy with situations and people she doesn’t know and will need a little time to get accustomed to new surroundings. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is house-trained with a doggie door.

Gem would love to just be carried around, but will do well with some basic training. She is very small and would thrive best in a quiet home with adults only. Gem is waiting for the gentle owner who would be happy to play with her and would enjoy a close companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gem, a Mountain Center Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mountain Center, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mountain Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mountain Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mountain Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mountain Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
