Layla (Spayed)'s Story...
"Layla" is a beautiful 3-year old female Pointer mix who was surrendered by her owner on February 16, 2016. This stunning girl has a white short smooth coat with black ticking, a patch of black at the base of her long tail, and a darling black-and-white face with is almost symmetrically marked. "Layla" has short floppy ears and cute black freckles on her muzzle. Her previous owner told us that "Layla" had been kept indoors and is housebroken. She is good with children and her adult friends, but "Layla" does NOT do well with other dogs or cats :( Our Canine Rescue Coordinator (Celeste Ridgway) spent time with "Layla" during the HSOV dog walk the day Layla was surrendered and persuaded Layla to pose for glamour photos in one of our upholstered chairs. It seemed that Layla had not been permitted on furniture in her previous home (even though Celeste kept telling her it was ok). Layla's previous owner told us that she protective about her food, so our kennel techs will be assessing that behavior. "Layla" weighs 52.2 lbs., and she has already been spayed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layla (Spayed), a Marietta Pointer/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Blue Heeler for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Pointer/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Pointer/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
