Sadie (Spayed)'s Story...
"Sadie" is an adorable 6-month old female Great Dane/Hound mix who originally arrived at the HSOV on November 28, 2015. This little sweetheart showed up at a nice family's home on Thanksgiving Day, and they tried in vain to locate her owner before bringing her to our shelter. "Sadie" has a black-and-white coat in a beautiful pattern, long legs, a long tail, and a darling black/white face which is symmetrically marked. She has a black spot on the top of her head and cute semi-erect ears. This little dollbaby was a 'social butterfly' the moment she walked into the lobby and immediately had a fan club who was in love with her. "Sadie" has an affectionate, outgoing personality and walks well on a leash. She obviously bonds with people very quickly for she was already looking to the Good Samaritan who brought her in as her 'new best friend' and mother figure. Whomever adopts her (since she was not reclaimed) will surely have a gem with this special girl .. The look of adoration on her face is priceless :) "Sadie" weighed 34.2 lbs. when she came to the HSOV on November 28, 2015. UPDATE: "Sadie" came back to our shelter on February 20, 2016 and is looking for another home. Her foster mother tells us that "Sadie" adores her people friends (including children), but that she does not tolerate other dogs (or cats) in her world :( "Sadie" is crate trained, housebroken, and walks well on a leash after she burns off some of her youthful energy. She has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccinations, and has tested negative for heartworm. These photos of "Sadie" were taken on November 28th and she had gained several pounds since then. After all, she is a growing youngster :) We will take updated photos of this beauty and post them asap.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie (Spayed), a Marietta Great Dane/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Great Dane/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Great Dane/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
