Facts about Abbott

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: Abbott
  • Hair: Short
Abbott was born (around 5/11/2011) in the attic of a couple's home in Sherman Oaks and when he and his brothers were around 4 weeks-old they fell down a hole in the floor. The couple heard crying and had to cut a hole in their dining room wall to free the three of them! Even though Abbott received the same amount of socialization he reverted to shy behavior when handled by us scary humans. Don't get me wrong; he's highly-social among all the other male cats in the house... in fact, most all the photos of have of the others have Abbott in the center. He's playful, smart, and affectionate... and, oh-so-handsome to look at. His coat is shiny like silk and his build is lean and muscular. Abbott is also very social around his favorite human (me) and LOVES to jump on to the bed to play with stringy toys. His weakness is freeze-dried Chicken treats and will gently eat them from your finger tips or even your lips. But if he thinks you're going to touch or pick him up he may run. He knows his name and communicates like any other cat - that's connected to a human... except in the areas of touch. Please... won't you give this deserving boy a loving home? He'd make an excellent companion for another friendly, playful, young male (or two).

About 2TheResQ

About Our Shelter...

We are a small rescue located in the San Fernando Valley focusing, primarily, on cats and kittens. We rescue most of the animals through trapping in our local communities, some times even chasing down strays, or pulling from our City and County shelters. Our adoptable pets live with us in our home or in foster homes. Fosters are always needed. Please consider becoming one today?

You can meet the animals & adopters on Face book by going to "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (which is a public page). There you will find rescues in progress and update photos and videos. Feel free to browse through the many albums. I believe in full disclosure & rely on the support of volunteers, donors, and like-minded, rescuers. We also partner with other 501C3 Non profit rescues.

Additionally, we support and practice TNR (Trap, Nueter, Release) of community cats although one of our main missions is to find the adoptable ones, good, loving homes.

One person really CAN make a difference. Join us there & find out!

It's important to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying/neutering, fostering, & adopting. I also enjoy teaching others how to humanely trap stray & feral cats.
