Tanner's Story...
UPDATE 9.12.16 Tanner, AKA Baby Boy, is a hound mix with a heart of gold. He is gentle, and settled and crate trained and house broken. He is about 5. He would love a home of his own. He does well with the other dogs here and has no problem letting the babies know enough is enough. He warns them, he is great with them.He is a big boy but past his wild stage. He is a gentle boy who is easy to live with.

He loves to lay in the sun and just relax.

Original Listing: Tanner is a 58 lbs, 5 year old coonhound. He came to me with heartworms and has recently been treated. He will need to be on HW prevention monthly for the rest of his life. He has 3-5 more weeks of crate rest to be sure he is going to be ok, but is doing well after his treatment. He is good in a crate, not a barker in there. He is working on housetraining, I doubt he has ever lived inside before. He is a sweet boy, a little shy, but likes everyone. He does ok with other dogs, not sure about cats. He is neutered, up to date with shots, microchipped and on monthly preventatives. He should test negative for HW in 6 months. If interested in Tanner, go to www.hubbardshounds.com and submit an application. NO PHONE CALLS!

Adoption donation is $200

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tanner, a Homer Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound for sale in Homer, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in Homer.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homer already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homer breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homer paves the way for another one to be saved.
